Good morning, everyone! Yes, me again....still wide awake here. Derek just got home from the club at 4:15 am…working still as a bouncer there….as he says, it pays his bills.  It’s very cold out there, he says but we are forecasted to have a more pleasant weekend…more time to sit outside, I hope, and drink tea and visit with my furries. For the last five days, I had a HUGE swelling, the size of my just above the armpit incision and it HURT!  It was enough pain to make me feel nauseous when my arm brushed against it.  I kept in eye on it and watched for signs of infection. I woke this morning with my warm fuzzy pink nightgown and the sheets soaking wet.  Apparently the incision had opened and alot of clear yellow LYMPH fluid was seeping out....the swelling was half it's former size and the pain reduced also by one half. I suspected that this was because the lymph system had been tampered with during surgery and the swelling had been a buildup of fluid that didn't have anywhere to go. It is still draining this evening...luckily I have a package of sterile medical pads to wear in my bra and capture the fluid. The pads also protect the incisions from the friction from the bra’s fabric. Just to confirm my observation and to assuage JB’s concerns, I called my nurse up in Hamilton at the cancer centre (yes, I am assigned a specific nurse for my entire surgery and treatment period), and she concurred completely, just warning me to stay home until my incision is completely healed (due to risk of exposure and possible infection). She said the body will eventually find a new way to re-absorb the lymph fluid and to use the pain meds as she knows how uncomfortable that condition is.  I was relieved to have confirmation but told her that I do not use pain meds but instead, I use EFT and self-hypnosis instead. She was rather amazed that I’ve handled it so well on my own considering especially, the painful pressure of the swelling. So now, I will stay home yet and rest as she told me to do. I do not seem to get much done except reading, drinking water & teas and watching my animals...oh, and crocheting.  We were invited to a friend’s place for an Open House on Sunday afternoon as his younger daughter (we attended her wedding) is visiting from Israel with her one year old daughter. However, I do not feel up to a big crowd – he always has about 90 of his “closest friends”- aka his INNER CIRCLE… at his parties…lol.  This is Paul, the man I worked with for 17 years, running his business, and since the business includes high-end catering, it’s always a feast there.  SillyRose is being VERY demanding for attention so I’d better do that before I can go to bed.  I can hear Derek is already snoring downstairs.  Enjoy your weekend, everyone! Gentle hugs and healing energy, congrats and support for all, Nancy B

Morning Off
I haven't decided if its a good morning yet,  I am a member of the nonsleep brigade as well.  Well maybe in my case its the awake  much too early brigade!  I did get my normal 3 hrs sleep I just went to sleep too early.
I enjoyed my visit with Trish yesterday,   I wish  other stuff hadn't cut it short!    We are off this am to go check out another motor home to replace our damages one.   Then I suppose I should pretend to do housework  the house is a total disaster.
Prayers going up for all our friends here who are facing health issues.
Safe travels for all in the coming holiday week.

Good Morning Nancy and all my wonderful OFF Sisters,
I am up early due to a sinus headache.  Nothing major, just enough to make lying down uncomfortable.  I have an appointment with my ENT in December due to a CT scan showing swelling of my maxillary sinuses, the ones under my eyes.  I have had two surgeries in my sinuses already, and it is more painful than RNY to recuperate from.

Today, I am heading to an AA meeting in town here.  Tomorrow, I leave for Pennsylvania.  My time with the Munchkins is coming to a close.

Hugs and prayers for all in need.

Love,
Trish

Today it is DH and me.  I have not even had my requisite coffee yet but am working on it.  It is cold and cloudy and I think it's time for some soup.  I am going to see what I've got in the refrig that I can throw in a pot.

We are waiting for the call for husband's eye.  And, we have a bag packed, just in case.  Nothing going on here today except some early prep for turkey day: I'll make eight or nine pie crust and start some corn bread for the dressing.  You all know the drill.  Cook, cook, and more cook.

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

I had a nice day yesterday: I went to see "J. Edgar" ... very good movie, then dropped over to see my cat lady friend, Patricia, and her kitties. I wanted to drop off some apple muffins for her and a video that I promised her that I forgot to give her. Then it was home to do laundry, watch a movie, have my weekly glass of wine, read for awhile, etc.

Now, back to work. Oh, and I had the Starbucks Skinny Peppermint Mocha yesterday ... oh, yummy! Good for a treat.

My back and head are hurting me today ... it's supposed to rain tonight. Hope my headache subsides before work.

Well, have a good day.
